Spurge started playing out in 2017. Madlife in Roswell was the first venue to give our unknown little band a shot. They were very welcoming and supportive and open to a band with no vocals. The first three tracks are from the end of August 2017 at Madlife. The interesting thing about this show was most of the crowd was there to support the other acts, who were all amazing musicians, but it was a battle of the bands type scenario and we were very different genre-wise, so we had to work the crowd a little bit to get them onboard with the style.

Fast forward a year later and we landed a gig at the Masquerade. Their local booking department is very supportive and looks out for shows we could potentially open on. The last three tracks of the recording were taken at the end of August at the Masquerade. This was also our last show with lead guitarist, Dom. This recording is unique in that it captures our first and last show with our original line up. Wherever we played this past year, we usually are the unknown band so I think it's always beautiful and genuine to hear the crowd reactions.
